Triskelion can contribute to the safe and reliable (re)introduction of non-ruminant animal proteins. We have developed highly specific DNA-based testing methods that can distinguish all relevant animal species, even in highly processed PAPs. Our Triskelion method for ruminant DNA was assessed in close cooperation with the EURL-AP (European Union Reference Laboratory for Animal Protein in feeding stuffs). Apart from a thorough evaluation of the method, performed with respect to specificity and sensitivity towards DNA from a wide variety of animals including ruminants, terrestrial mammalians, birds, fish species and sea mammals, the robustness of the method was tested successfully. As a follow-up, our method was validated through an inter-laboratory study in which 12 European institutes participated. Based on this assessment, the EURL-AP concluded that the ruminant specific qPCR method developed by Triskelion is suitable for the detection of ruminant PAP in feed. In Europe, this method is the only approved method for ruminant testing.
Having developed the animal species analysis method in house, we have the experience and the credibility to match your needs. Our service is designed to deliver reliable results on time. Turnaround times are as good as they come and an express service up to 48 hours is available by consultation. Triskelion communicates the test results in a report format that is acceptable for the legislators, including a short but sound explanation of the test methods used, and which can be used by you freely for communication in your commercial network. Ruminant DNA testing at Triskelion is accredited under ISO/IEC 17025.
